DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A road project on Munger Avenue in Dallas has left numerous homeowners with inaccessible driveways. And to make matters worse, residents said the city didn't even warn them about the construction.
"It's frustrating. We received notice through digital signs on the road that the traffic was going to switch sides of the road. That's the only notice that we had," said Linda Fisk who scrambled last week to move her BMW out of her garage and park it in front of her house.
Fisk had a bad feeling about the construction equipment gathering outside and moved her car hours before it would have ended up marooned on the edge of a small cliff where pavement is now chopped up. She said the inconvenience is bad enough but the lack of communication from the city is simply unacceptable.
The homes impacted by the project are right in the middle of the Munger Place historic district. Additionally, homeowners claimed the construction is tearing up their lawn; shaking their homes causing cracks, rocking their foundations.
The city has yet to respond to CBS11 for comment.
