RGIII Should Help Redskins Attract Free Agents
WASHINGTON (AP) - Robert Griffin III has made the Washington Redskins a more attractive destination for NFL free agents.
The league's open market begins Tuesday, and the team that has finished last four years running in the NFC East can pitch a future built around the dynamic Heisman Trophy winner from Baylor.
Longtime player agent Tony Agnone says the Redskins' pursuit of Griffin "totally ups the value of the franchise from a destination standpoint.''
The Redskins are expected to take Griffin with the No. 2 pick in the draft next month after making a trade last week with the St. Louis Rams.
Washington general manager Bruce Allen says it was important to get the trade done before free agency began.
