RG3 Brings Heisman Trophy Home, Honored At Baylor
WACO (AP) - Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III was greeted with the Superman theme and chants of "One more year! One more year!'' when he was honored at halftime of the Baylor men's basketball game Wednesday night.
Fans chanted "RG3! RG3!'' when highlights of the quarterback were shown, including the Saturday night presentation of him becoming Baylor's first Heisman winner. Griffin had a huge smile when he came out carrying the trophy before raising it over his head.
Griffin returned to the Baylor campus Tuesday, on the field for a 6 p.m. practice only 40 minutes after his flight landed. He wanted to share the trophy with his teammates.
The 15th-ranked Bears (9-3) play Washington in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29. Baylor's only 10-win season came in 1980.
