Reward Increased For 'Most Wanted' Fugitive
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - There has been a huge increase in the reward being offered for information that leads to the arrest of a wanted fugitive. Texas Crime Stoppers and North Texas Crime Stoppers are offering additional cash for those who can help bring 43-year-old Larry Valdez to justice. The previous prize was $10,000, but that has been bumped up to $25,000 during this month.
Valdez is one of the 10 most wanted Texas fugitives, and is being featured during the month of September, in hopes that authorities can get additional tips from the public. Texas Crime Stoppers has doubled the original $10,000 reward and North Texas Crime Stoppers have kicked in an additional $5,000. The reward increase to $25,000 is valid only during this month.
Valdez has been on the run since 2005. He is wanted in Dallas County for allegedly assaulting a woman and leaving her for dead. The victim managed to survive the brutal attack, but is now permanently disfigured. He is wanted for assault causing bodily injury, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and parole violation.
Valdez has been described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and around 185 pounds. He has a tattoo of a heart, ribbon and arrow on the left side of his chest. The suspect reportedly has relatives living in the Dallas area, and authorities said that Valdez was once employed as an iron worker.
Anybody with information about Valdez or his whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers immediately. Tipsters submit information in one of four ways, and are guaranteed to remain anonymous.

- Text the letters 'DPS' followed by your tip to CRIMES.
- Submit a tip online at the DPS website.
- Submit a tip through the link on Facebook.
Authorities warn that harboring a known fugitive can result in state or federal charges, with sentences of as much as 10 years in jail. Those found to have been helping Valdez avoid arrest will also be arrested and prosecuted. Also, do not attempt to apprehend a fugitive on your own. They should be considered armed and dangerous.
