Reporter Emily Jones Victimized In Rangers Postgame Celebration

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- Players are routinely doused in Gatorade following an emotional walk-off win. Reporters are not.

After Josh Hamilton hit a pinch-hit, walk-off double on Sunday to defeat the Red Sox, Fox Sports Southwest's Emily Jones was the victim.

Shortstop Elvis Andrus, carrying a seemingly full jug of red Powerade, took dead aim at Jones and Hamilton during a postgame interview. It was Jones that left drenched.

"Where do we go from here Josh?" asked a shocked Jones following the attack.

She joined Shan & RJ on 105.3 The Fan on Monday to discuss the incident.

"I'm a little disappointed in myself, because I've gotten pretty good over the years about anticipating when these things are going to happen and responding to them in time," said Jones. "I don't know if I was just off my game yesterday or let my guard down a little bit. I got blindsided."

Jones says Elvis has been waiting for this opportunity for years. And this definitely was not staged.

"This was obliviously intentional," said Jones. "There was nothing accidental about what Elvis was doing. He got me. He got me really good."

The dress, which is ruined and was initially thrown away, will now be auctioned off at the Do It For Durrett benefit in July.

As far as revenge on Andrus...

"I haven't put a whole lot of thought into it...I'll think of something."
