FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) -- Sophomore Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill, who performed well early but lost the starting job, has asked for his release and will transfer to TCU.
Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin confirmed to 105.3 The Fan Friday that Hill has asked for and been granted his release by the university.
"Most quarterbacks are used to being the guy," said Sumlin with the G-Bag Nation. "Some guys aren't patient. Some guys are...Quarterbacks usually are a little less patient."
Sumlin could not confirm Hill's plans.
Sources tell 105.3 The Fan's Roy White that Hill will be at TCU next week to begin baseball season.

Regarding football at TCU, Hill could potentially redshirt for the 2015 season as Trevone Boykin -- the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year -- completes his eligibility. Hill could play in 2016 with two years of eligibility remaining.
The Southlake Carroll alum surprised everyone in his first start, passing for 511 yards and three touchdowns against South Carolina -- earning the nickname "Kenny Trill".
He would eventually lose his job to freshman Kyle Allen after the Aggies dropped three straight SEC games -- including a 59-0 loss at Alabama. Allen went on to start the final five games, ending the season as MVP in the Aggies' win over West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl.
Allen quarterback Kyler Murray, who finished his high school career with a 42-0 record as a starter and three straight state championships, is also expected to join the football program next season.
