He and the Mavs have been at odds since he became a part of the team in December of 2011.
In a statement, Odom says he's sorry the relationship didn't work out, and he wished the team well.
Odom, the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, averaged 6.6 points, 4.2 rebound and 20.5 minutes in his 50 games for Dallas. All were career lows.
