Report: Cops Seized 2.7 Pounds Of Pot In TCU sting
FORT WORTH (AP) - Fort Worth police seized about 2.7 pounds of marijuana in the TCU-related drug sting that led to the arrests of four football players and a dozen other students.
That's according to a police report obtained by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram under the Texas Public Information Act.
The newspaper reports that undercover officers also seized $46,000 in cash during the six-month sting.
The report also says officers seized nine weapons - including one on campus, a rifle found at a fraternity house.
Police estimate the street value of the drugs seized at about $29,000.
Police say 23 people were arrested and 10 more are expected. Among those arrested last week were four Texas Christian University football players and 12 other students accused of selling drugs to undercover officers.
