Report: 7 Problem Areas With Allen ISD Stadium
ALLEN (CBSDFW.COM) - Allen ISD officials have released a report identifying seven major problem areas with the district's $60 million football stadium.
District officials and board members received the report, compiled by Nelson Forensics, during a closed session meeting on Monday evening.
The full report can be downloaded here and pointed out problems with the design/construction of the following areas: retaining walls, concourse framing, press box support columns, press box structure, single story structure, main scoreboard, durability.
Dr. Lance Hindt, Allen ISD Superintendent, speaking a a news conference Thursday afternoon, said repairs on the stadium would begin as soon as July, with the goal of reopening the stadium in time for graduation in 2015.

"We just have a stadium that wasn't designed right and wasn't constructed right," said Hindt.
Hindt repeatedly stated that PBK and Pogue Construction, the companies that designed and built the stadium, would be responsible for the cost of all repairs and any other costs incurred by the district as a result of the stadium's closure.
"I remain committed to holding both PBK and Pogue accountable for the fix of the stadium," said Hindt.
At this time, there is no estimate for the total cost of repairs to the stadium, but it could start at $600,000, according to the district.
Pogue construction has previously accepted responsibility and a willingness to pay for its part of the repairs. Today, the company immediately re-iterated its promise.
"We stand here for our client; we've been with them for 41 years and will continue to stand by them," said Ben Pogue.
PBK released the following statement regarding the statement repairs:
"PBK has reviewed Nelson Forensics' findings and continues to work closely and collaboratively with the Allen Independent School District and our other partners to achieve a solution to the problem at Eagle Stadium.
