Rep.'s Finance Reports Missing $450,000

An Irving state lawmaker's reviewing campaign finance reports now that questions have surfaced about nearly half a million dollars in loans.

Reports today say State Representative Linda Harper-Brown's records don't show the loans have been repaid.  The Irving Republican's campaign manager says the Republican legislator is seeking guidance from the Texas Ethics Commission.

The Dallas Morning News analysis of finance reports from March of 2002 through this month found more than $450,000 dollars in loans with no record of repayment.  Her latest campaign reports show a loan balance of about $52,000.

Harper-Brown is a bookkeeper and her husband is an accountant.  Her campaign manager says William Brown always consults with the Ethics Commission before filing reports.
