Rebuilding Isn't An Option For One Garland Resident

People in the neighborhoods hit by the tornadoes in Garland are trying to decide whether to stay or move-on - and the already high demands in the building industry are adding to the pressure.
Ryan's house off Kelso Way has blown away by the Christmas weekend tornado that came through his neighborhood.
With help from his church community, he cleared his lot of debris. In the meantime, he and his wife and children have been in a hotel. At the time, we asked if he would re-build.
Today, he says the building process may take too long.
Jim Alk is the building official for the city of Garland and he says that people looking to repair are able to get it done. But, complete re-builds may not be as easy. So, empty lots may become the norm - for a while.
Ryan says developers will likely buy them. After spending two months in a hotel - Ryan and his wife put an offer on a house in Rowlett - and got it.
He's had offers on the empty lot - but they have been on the low side for now.
