Rangers Won't Sell Blue Bell Products For Upcoming Home Games
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The Texas Rangers have joined a list of companies that are have stopped selling Blue Bell products.
The team released a statement Wednesday afternoon saying that, "Ice cream will not be available at Globe Life Park during the upcoming homestand, and Sunday's Ice Cream Sunday promotion will not take place."

The decision was made "in light of recent events and out of an abundance of caution," said the statement. Blue Bell issued a recall for several products in mid-March after five people were sickened with listeriosis and three people died after eating the ice-cream products in a Kansas hospital. Several grocery chains have also stopped selling Blue Bell products due to the recall.

The Rangers opening homestand starts Friday, with a home opener and series against the Astros and continues through Wednesday with a series against the Angels.
The Texas Rangers, Globe Life Park and concessionaire Metroplex Sportservice says they will remain in contact with Blue Bell company officials as they address the ongoing situation.
