ARLINGTON (AP) - Second baseman Rougned Odor has been recalled by the Texas Rangers after they placed outfielder Delino DeShields on the disabled list with a left hamstring injury.
The Rangers made the moves before Monday night's home game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Odor was sent to Triple-A Round Rock five weeks ago after hitting .144 with one home run and 25 strikeouts in 90 at-bats while starting 25 of the Rangers' first 31 games at second base. Odor hit .355 with five homers in 107 at-bats in 30 games for the Express.
DeShields got hurt chasing down a fly ball in left field during Sunday's 4-3 loss to Minnesota. He appeared to slip on the warning track and grimaced even before running into the wall and slumping to the ground.
