FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – When Rangers Baseball Express demolished Vandergriff Plaza behind the center field wall in November, the bleacher seats came down along with it. But instead of ending up in a Dumpster, the rows of timeworn bleachers have landed on the Rangers's official auction site.

For the fixed price of $540, a piece of the 47-year-old cornerstone of sports seating humility can replace the family couch.

The last day to buy a bleacher is Friday, and pickup is strictly available on Feb. 24 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. That's also a Friday, so plan to ditch lunch or leave work early. They're too big to ship.

The bleachers were packed up following Game 5 of the World Series, which the Rangers lost in seven games. They've been a staple of the stadium since 1965.

The renovations started during the first week of November. A new club behind the batter's eye area atop Greene's Hill in straightaway center field will welcome fans on the first game of Spring Training.

A new concession area will find a home in the plaza that previously housed the Center Field Sports Park kids area.

KRLD-AM's space will be replaced with a new restaurant and sports bar. And those benches you'll surely be snapping up? They'll be replaced with actual seats.

Rangers officials say "inventory is extremely limited" and may sell out. If there's any left over, they'll be melted down.

All proceeds from the bleachers will go toward the Texas Rangers Foundation.

And speaking of Rangers, you can watch eight Spring Training games on TXA 21 starting in March. If you wish, you can buy the bleachers here.
