Rangers' Levine Creates Fantasy Sports Platform For Charity

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- With over 40 million participants annually, fantasy sports is a multi-billion dollar industry in the United States.

Texas Rangers assistant GM Thad Levine is hoping to capitalize on that market -- for charity.

Levine has launched a fantasy sports platform called Meaningful Wins, which allows participants to play for charity rather than for profit.

Participants can also win unique prizes from a variety of sports celebrities.

"In my career, I have been blessed to get to know players like Greg Maddux, Kevin Millar, Mike Napoli, John Burkett, Mike Adams, Darren Oliver and Derek Holland, to name a few," said Levine in a statement. "All of these players care deeply about giving back to the community by supporting great nonprofit causes, and they all happen to be rabid fantasy football fans. They have supported Meaningful Wins with marketing and by providing very unique prizes."

Users can register their existing leagues, make a donation, and select a worthy non-profit to play for in the upcoming fantasy football season.

It is also tax-deductible.
