ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Texas Rangers fans are hoping that their team can bounce back Friday after falling to the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 10-1 on Thursday in Game 1 of the American League Division Series. Those who arrived at the ballpark prior to the second game of the series are remembering the team's slogan this season -- #NeverEverQuit.
It was a wet morning after rain showers started rolling across North Texas before sunrise on Friday. But fans still came out in good spirits, optimistic about the Rangers and their chances despite Thursday's brutal beating.
When the first game of the series started, Globe Life Park was a packed house. But as Toronto's lead continued to grow, many in the crowd decided to leave early. "I had it on the radio," said Rangers fan Bill Bird. "I had high hopes, but it just didn't turn our way yesterday. Today's going to be a better day."
Wet weather aside, fan Doug Mayfield was outside of the ballpark grilling up fajitas before the first pitch -- something that he promised to do rain or shine. He too is confident that Texas can pull out an important win on Friday afternoon before heading to Toronto, where the series continues on Sunday and Monday.
"We're going in and we're ready to rock and roll, and watch this game," Mayfield said. "We're going to get a win today!"
