Rangers dominate Pirates for 10th straight win
Michael Young led an offensive assault with three hits and four runs batted in, as the Texas Rangers pounded Pittsburgh, 13-3, for its 10th consecutive win in the second of three interleague affairs at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
Nelson Cruz was 3-for-4 and knocked in three while Ian Kinsler drove in two with a pair of hits and scored two runs. Elvis Andrus scored three times, drove in a run and added three hits to a 17-hit attack -- and all without the services of red-hot Josh Hamilton, who is in the midst of a career-best 17- game hitting streak. He got the day off to rest.
Dustin Nippert got plenty of support but pitched just three innings in the start. He struck out seven, walked four and gave up two runs on four hits while reaching 82 pitches.
