Rangers Ballpark Getting A New Name

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The Texas Rangers are set to announce details Wednesday about the franchise's latest deal. Their ballpark in Arlington will be getting a new name. There is no evidence about the name change visible from outside of the park, but the team has already indicated that it has reached a naming rights deal.

The Rangers have not elaborated on that deal, however. More information is expected to come from a press confernce being held later on Wednesday.

The Dallas Cowboys agreed to a stadium naming rights deal with AT&T just last year. Jerry Jones did not disclose how much that deal with worth. The agreement changed the team's home field from Cowboys Stadium to AT&T Stadium.

The home of the Rangers is turning 20 years old. It opened in 1994 as The Ballpark in Arlington and stayed that way for a decade. The name then changed to Ameriquest Field in Arlington for three years. Over the last seven years, the ballpark has been known simply as Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The new name remains a mystery, at least for the next few hours.
