Rangers Announce ALDS Roster Vs Rays
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - It seems like a repeat of the 2010 season, but this year the Texas Rangers begin the ALDS with home field advantage as they battle the Tampa Bay Rays.
Game 1 starts tonight at 4:00pm at the Ballpark in Arlington and the Rangers have announced the 25-man roster for the first game in the best-of-5 series.
Rangers manager Ron Washington is going with an extra catcher and seven relief pitchers in the AL division series.
RH Pitchers (6) Mike Adams, Scott Feldman, Neftali Feliz, Colby Lewis, Alexi Ogando and Koji Uehara.
LH Pitchers (5) Michael Gonzalez, Matt Harrison, Derek Holland, Darren Oliver and C.J. Wilson.
Catchers (3) Mike Napoli, Yorvit Torrealba and Matt Treanor
Infielders (6) Elvis Andrus, Adrian Beltre, Esteban German, Ian Kinsler, Mitch Moreland and Michael Young.
Outfielders (5) Endy Chavez, Nelson Cruz, Craig Gentry, Josh Hamilton and David Murphy
Speaking of Napoli, he set career highs with a .320 batting average, 30 home runs and 75 RBIs in 113 games. He can also play first base or DH, flexibility that gives Washington more options with his lineup with an extra catcher.
