Rangers Acquire OF Alex Rios From White Sox
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The Rangers announced Friday they have acquired outfielder Alex Rios from the Chicago White Sox.
Rangers media EVP John Blake made the announcement via twitter:
The Rangers will also receive $1 million in cash, while Chicago will receive a player to be named.
Rangers GM Jon Daniels spoke to the media Friday afternoon and gave a few reasons why the club went after Rios.

The Rangers, who began the day a percentage point behind Oakland for the AL West lead, were looking for help. Cruz, their All-Star right fielder and 2011 AL championship series MVP, was suspended 50 games Monday by Major League Baseball following its investigation into the Biogenesis clinic accused of distributing banned performance-enhancing drugs. He was leading the Rangers with 27 home runs and 76 RBIs.
Rios hit .277 with 12 homers this season in 109 games for the White Sox. It was his fifth season in Chicago after being originally acquired by the White Sox in a waiver deal with the Blue Jays back in '09.
