Ranger Of The Week: Yu Darvish
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Is it too early to call this investment a success? If so, then it will be hard to hold our excitement.
Backtracking a bit, after a rough week on the diamond, picking the Ranger of the week came down to a coin toss.
Darvish's 4-1 win over the Blue Jays Monday night was the one bright spot in the Rangers trip to the Great White North. His 7 inning/9 strikeout game was blemish free. The only negative moment was a solo home run by Toronto's Edwin Encarnacion, who is having an impressive week himself.
Darvish edged out Elvis Andrus in the coin flip. Andrus hit .440 with 11 hits and 5 runs batted in for the week, but an error Tuesday night cost him the title for this week.
Darvish also got the nod from Major League Baseball, being named the Rookie of the Month for April.
And for all of that, Yu Darvish has been named the Ranger of the Week for the second time this season, and is showing no signs of stopping.
