NORTH TEXAS – After a wet Christmas Eve, North Texas will mostly dry out overnight in time for Santa's flight, but clouds and some drizzle will linger.

Christmas morning will be cooler, with temperatures starting near 50. Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the day, but a few hints of sunshine may appear in the afternoon, with highs topping out near 60.

Thursday is a First Alert Weather Day due to another round of rain and storms, some of which could be severe.

The system will race across North Texas, clearing out by the evening hours. It will be stronger than Tuesday's system and could produce severe storms capable of quarter-size hail and gusty winds. The tornado threat is low but not zero.

The weather on Friday and into the weekend is shaping up to be great, with above-normal temperatures returning and full sunshine by Sunday.
