Rabid Deer Found On Parker County Golf Course
PARKER COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) – The Parker County Sheriff's Office says a rabid deer was found last week at a golf course in southwestern Parker County.
The young male deer was found lying on part of the Sugar Tree Golf Course August 2. The Sheriff's Office says it displayed clinical rabies symptoms. The deer was euthanized humanely and tests by the Texas Department of State Health Services confirmed the deer was rabid.
Animal Control investigators are urging anyone living near the Sugar Tee Golf Course who may have had contact with this deer, described as a young male with damage to its right antler, to contact the Texas Department of State Health Services at 325-795-5857 or Parker County Animal Control at 817-594-8845.
