A Master's Degree In Criminal Justice Opens Career Paths For Dallas Student

Firuzeh Taylor is a Network Fulfillment Specialist at FedEx Office in Dallas. She is pursuing a master's degree in criminal justice and security from the University of Phoenix. "I love investigative work. I like protecting people and helping them to feel safe," said Taylor who participated in her high school's Police Explorer's Program. She decided to pursue a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.

"I was going to school at San Diego State University in California when my mother fell ill. I wanted to be able to go to school and maintain my studies while taking care of her. I transferred to the University of Phoenix. My aunt and uncle earned their master's degrees in business from the University of Phoenix, so I knew it had a good track record," said Taylor who earned her bachelor's in criminal justice from the University of Phoenix.

When Taylor transferred to Texas, her job title changed and she put her education on hold to handle the new duties of her position.

Now, she has decided to resume her studies in criminal justice and security. "I will be able to pick up my studies right where I left off," said Taylor who is looking to graduate at the end of the year with her master's in criminal justice and security. "Balance and time are the biggest challenges I have faced when pursuing my master's degree but I know it is worth it," said Taylor.
