Protesters Expected Near Bush Library Dedication

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -- Protestors are expected to demonstrate at Thursday's dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas. But as security tightens around the event, protestors and hopeful viewers likely won't get too close.

Joint preparations by the Dallas Police Department, Highland Park, University Park, SMU police and the Secret Service started months ago.

Road closures on and around the SMU campus are keeping anyone without credentials, from interested viewers to protestors, far from the library's location.

Earlier this week, a group called "The People's Response" setup directly across Central Expressway (75) from the library. The group plans to march on the library around 8:30 a.m. in all black clothes "in remembrance of those tortured or killed".
