ARLINGTON (CBS11) - The video allegedly showing the infamous "Affluenza" teen Ethan Couch at a drinking party with other teens continues to explode on social media.

Now, Tarrant County Prosecutor Richard Alpert says his office is taking the allegations seriously and they are investigating.

Alpert said, "We need to verify it's him. We need to verify where it was. We need to verify who was there with him, and we need to verify what there is beyond what we see in the video, and that's what we're trying to do."

The six-second video shows several young people in a room, with red cups and beer cans stacked on a table. It ends when a young man dives onto the table, and it collapses. A man reported to be Couch, can be seen clapping during the dive.

Couch, now 18, was sentenced to 10 years probation for killing 4 people back in 2013 when he was driving drunk.

He was 16 at the time, and his lawyers argued he suffered from "Affluenza," a condition they say impaired his judgement because of his wealth and upbringing.

Alpert added, "We're going to get to the bottom of the allegations and take whatever action is appropriate once we do."
