Prison For North Texas Woman Who Forced Girl Into Sex Trade
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A woman has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for forcing a 15-year-old girl into prostitution and advertising her services online in a North Texas sex trafficking case.
A Friday statement from the U.S. attorney's office in Fort Worth says 22-year-old Brittanie S. Brattain has been sentenced for her guilty plea to a single count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor.
Her co-defendant, 27-year-old Deundrea R. Miller, pleaded guilty to the same charge and is to be sentenced November 12.
Investigators say Miller, who's from Fort Worth, and Brattain met the victim last fall. They agreed to take pictures of teenager to post advertisements for "dates" online that would be used for commercial sex acts. Brattain and Miller used a cell phone to take pictures of the girl in her underwear and post the advertisements. The girl was hired out as a prostitute for five months before she fled.
