Preston Road Bridge Demo To Bring Weekend Delays On 635
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Drivers traveling on 635-LBJ this weekend can expect long delays with the demolition of the Preston Road bridge set to begin.
The eastern half of the Preston Road bridge will be demolished from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday, causing various closures throughout the weekend.
On the LBJ Express blog, the following information was provided to give drivers advanced warning of the expected delays.
STEP 1: 9pm Nov 16th – Noon Nov 17th
- Eastbound LBJ reduced down to 1 lane under Preston Road
- The eastbound LBJ exit ramp to Hillcrest Road closed
- Preston Road bridge closed.
STEP 2: Noon Nov 17th - 7pm Nov 17th
- 2 right lanes closed on eastbound LBJ under Preston Road
- The eastbound LBJ exit ramp to Hillcrest Road closed
- Various lanes closed on Preston Road bridge.
Step 3: 7pm Nov 17th – Noon Nov 18th
- The westbound LBJ exit ramp to Montfort Drive closed
- The westbound LBJ entrance ramp from Hillcrest Road closed
- Preston Road bridge closed.
Step 4: Noon Nov 18th – 8pm Nov 18th
- 2 right lanes closed on westbound LBJ under Preston Road
- The eastbound LBJ exit ramp to Hillcrest Road closed
- Various lanes closed on Preston Road bridge
Step 5: 8pm Nov 18th – 6am Nov 19th
- Various lanes closed on eastbound and westbound LBJ under Preston Road
