Power Outage Closes Fort Worth City Hall
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - For more than two hours there was no public business taking place at Fort Worth City Hall. The building was temporarily closed to the public after a power outage.
Apparently a water pump failed near City Hall, at 1000 Throckmorton Street.
When the issue occurred, the building's safety systems automatically kicked in and power was shut off.
Fort Worth firefighters were called to help rescue several people that had become stuck in elevators, after the electricity shut down. There were no injuries.
During the outage the general public was not allowed inside the building.
Most city workers, who were given the option of staying in the building, left for lunch and returned to a situation that was soon resolved.
