DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas police auto pound lost power Saturday due to a downed transformer and was unable to release vehicles to their drivers.
The pound re-opened Sunday and is able to release vehicles to their owners.
Dallas police said they would waive fees during the affected time.
John Jones, one of those affected by the power outage, said he went to pick up his girlfriend's car at the lot and that his son's car seat is still inside.
"We have to make extra arrangements to take him places... To have someone watch him," said Jones. "They should have some type of backup system... our cars are our means of transportation. This really sets people back."
The pound was closed earlier this week because of a water main break.
