Hoax Bomb Threat Prompts Lockdown At Hebron High School
CARROLLTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- Authorities say a hoax bomb threat at Hebron High School prompted officials to lockdown the campus on Tuesday morning.
Neighboring Hebron 9th Grade Campus was also locked down as police investigated the threat, which was made in an "outside phone call".
Lewisville ISD released a statement outlining the sequence of events.
"Following the outside phone call this morning, HHS Principal Scot Finch immediately implemented our emergency plan by locking down the campus and notifying the Carrollton Police Department. Police were on scene and secured the building, conducting a sweep – making their way into every room on campus. HHS 9 was placed on precautionary lockdown due to its proximity to HHS."
The Carrollton Police Department set a perimeter around the school to secure the building. It is unclear as to the exact threat made.
"Please know the safety and security of our students is priority. Our administration, faculty and staff are committed to maintaining a safe school environment that is conducive to learning and teaching," the district says.
