Police: Woman Cried Rape Before Stealing Car

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Fort Worth are investigating a bizarre case that happened Wednesday evening involving allegations of rape and a stolen minivan. The incident took place at The Villas of Oak Hills apartment complex along Oak Hill Circle in the west side of the city.

According to authorities, a woman ran out from an apartment building saying that she had been raped. Another woman, who had just arrived at the apartment complex in a minivan, got out of her vehicle to help the supposed victim, briefly leaving her two children inside of the car. However, that is when the first lady ran into the minivan and sped away with the kids still in the backseat.

Police immediately began to search for the woman, the minivan and the children, and found all of them just a short time later at the McDonald's fast food restaurant at the intersection of Camp Bowie Boulevard and Hilldale Road, about four miles from the apartment complex.

The woman was taken into custody and is being interviewed by the Fort Worth Police Department's sexual assault detectives. Officials have not said if she will face any charges. The children were not harmed during the incident.
