Police Withholding Controversial Note In Frisco Deaths
FRISCO (KRLD) -- A family attorney for a couple found dead in Frisco last September is calling for the release of a controversial note that could shed light on the incident.
But an investigation by KRLD clouds the reason that Frisco Police are withholding the document.
As late as last week, Frisco Police were claiming a possible suicide note found in the home of Pallavi and Sumeet Dhawan could not be released because they were waiting for DPS to finish a handwriting analysis. But DPS tells KRLD the report was finished last October, and the results were sent to Frisco.
Family attorney David Finn has been fighting for release of the letter since the Dhawan's bodies were discovered.
"It's not exactly a 'who done it,' so why are they hiding the note?" asked Finn. "I don't understand it."
The couple's bodies were found in the same house where the body of their son, 10-year-old Arnev, was found in January. Pallavi was being investigated for murder in his death, despite the medical examiner ruling the death was most likely from natural causes.
Pallavi said her son died of natural causes and she was preserving his body for religious rites.
Finn said both Sumeet and Pallavi Dhawan were feeling stress from the ongoing police investigation, describing them as being stuck "in living hell." He believes the note may show Pallavi reached a breaking point after months of being hounded by police.
Frisco Police insist they are still waiting for the state to finish.
