Police Video Shows Accident With Alleged Drunk Driver

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in North Richland Hills released police dash camera video Tuesday that shows the harrowing moments as two officers were struck by an alleged drunk driver.

The officers, Sergeant Todd Hanson and Officer Oscar Saenz, were hit around 3:30 a.m. Sunday while working a highway construction detail along Northeast Loop 820 close to the Hurst city line.  The officers were blocking off a ramp to protect construction workers when an SUV slammed into their two marked police cars.

"After the crash occurred, emergency personnel from the cities of North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Watauga and Hurst arrived at the location to provide assistance," said North Richland Hills Police Investigator Keith Bauman. "The injured officers were transported to area hospitals and later released with non-life threatening injuries."

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 27-year-old Judith Dee Hodges of Grapevine.  She was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of dangerous drugs.
