DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A killer is on the run Wednesday morning in the Red Bird area of Dallas. Police are looking for the person who shot and killed two men at the Brandon Mill Apartments, in the 8000 block of Marvin D. Love Freeway, along the highway's southbound service road.

According to the Dallas Police Department, a woman who lives at the complex called 911 after hearing a commotion at around 4:00 a.m. early Wednesday morning. Officers responded, but were unable to find anything suspicious. They called the woman back, but she had gone to sleep.

The woman called police again at 7:00 a.m. and officers returned, this time to a different apartment unit in the same building. That is when they found the two male victims shot to death. Officials said that the men were young, possibly in their early 20s, and drug-related items were found inside of the apartment as well.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.

After earlier reports of an "active shooter" in the area, authorities now believe that the killing was an isolated incident. While a description of the suspect has not been released, police think that he fled from the scene on foot.

Still, some residents are worried and concerned on Wednesday, especially because the suspect is still on the run. "It's so close to home," said Joyce Williams, who lives nearby. "I have two boys and it just hit close to home."
