Police Seek Suspect In Denton Store Robberies

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Denton are searching for a suspect in two convenience store robberies. The crimes took place at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, one at a 7-Eleven store in the 1200 block of McCormick Street and another at a Quick Track store in the 1700 block of Bernard Street.

At the first crime, the suspect entered the 7-Eleven store and approached the counter with an item to purchase. He then demanded money from the register, but the cashier refused to comply. The suspect ran from the scene on foot. While officers were investigating that location, authorities received a call about the second robbery. The same method was used, only this time the cashier did comply with demands. The two crimes happened about 10 minutes apart from each other.

The man showed a black semi-automatic handgun in both instances.

The suspect has been described as a white male in his early 30s, about 6 feet tall and between 180 and 200 pounds. He has several tattoos including a tear drop outside of his left eye and stitching along the front of his neck. He was wearing a red and blue striped polo shirt, jeans and white shoes during the first robbery. He then changed into a gray polo shirt and Texas Longhorns baseball cap for the second robbery.

Anyone with information about this suspect or the crimes is urged to contact the Denton Police Department immediately at 940-349-7993.
