Police Seek Person Of Interest In Rowlett Mom's Murder

ROWLETT (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Rowlett are searching for a person of interest in the case of a murdered mother. It was back on November 13 of last year that authorities responded to the 8200 block of Americas Cup to investigate the death of 37-year-old Laura Grillo.
According to Det. Cruz Hernandez of the Rowlett Police Department, the victim was found in her home with a gunshot wound to the head. There were no signs of forced entry, and investigators stressed that this did not appear to be a random attack, but rather one targeted specifically at Grillo.
During the initial investigation, detectives spoke with 30-year-old Jesus Trevino, a friend and employee of Grillo's fiance. The latest report from police, however, said that Trevino gave "false and misleading information on his whereabouts on the day of the murder."
Authorities now want to question Trevino again, but have been unable to locate him.
Officials are also investigating two other people who may be connected to the murder, but they have not been identified.
Trevino has a 2008 conviction for sexually assaulting a child in Tarrant County. After serving about two years behind bars, he was deported back to his native Mexico. He then returned to North Texas and took up residence in Dallas. Along with possible ties to the Rowlett murder case, the Dallas Police Department has issued a felony warrant for Trevino after he failed to register as a sex offender.
