Police Seek Dallas Food Store Robber

Sima Foods Burglary by Dallas Police Department on YouTube

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Dallas are searching for the man who robbed a food store in the 4000 block of Commerce Street last week. The incident happened at about 11:40 p.m. on May 12, and the suspect was captured on video by the store's surveillance camera.

According to authorities, the suspect entered Sima Foods through a back window and searched through the store's office. He swiped a handgun and then tried to enter the store's employee break room. A camera recorded the suspect's failed attempt to break down a locked door. When he could not get into the break room, the suspect fled.

The Dallas Police Department posted the surveillance camera footage on their YouTube channel, in hopes that somebody will recognize the suspect and help track him down.

That suspect has been described as a black male, between 22 and 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the words "Air Jordan" on the left sleeve.

Anyone with information about this suspect or this case is urged to contact either the Dallas Police Department at 214-670-5053 or Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS.
