Police Seek Arlington Bank Robbery Suspect
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Arlington need the public's help in locating the man believed to be responsible for at least two bank robberies on Monday afternoon.
The first incident took place at around 1:00 p.m. when the suspect walked into a grocery store in the 2200 block of South Fielder Road. The store has a bank inside, and the man approached a teller stating that he had a gun. The suspect passed the teller a note demanding an undisclosed amount of cash. The teller complied with the suspect's demands and the man left without ever actually showing a gun.
A similar incident then happened about 15 minutes later at another grocery store bank in the 2500 block of East Arkansas Lane. A man with the same description again told the teller that he had a gun, demanded money through a note, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The same suspect was also seen about 15 minutes prior to the first robbery, acting suspicious inside of a third grocery store bank in the 900 block of West Lamar Boulevard. Tellers at that location reported seeing a man who looked like he was nervous, but he left the store without incident.
The suspect has been described as a man between 18 and 22 years of age. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build. Cameras at the banks were able to capture several photographs of the suspect. He was seen leaving the second robbery in a maroon colored 2000 Chevrolet truck.
