Police Searching For Suspects In Deadly Carjacking
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are searching for two men involved in a deadly robbery and carjacking that happened overnight in Northwest Dallas.
According to Dallas Police, Ozeil Garcia, 18 was robbed and killed by two unidentified men near the Plaza Del Lago Apartments at 3330 Webb Chapel Extension around 12:50 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say the two suspects took property from the victim, including his red 2008 Chevy Silverado (TX: GJD 4577).
Garcia had spent the night in Addison watching Kaboom Town fireworks. He posted pictures on Snapchat. His last snap from a friends house camp at 12:35 a.m., about 15 minutes before his death.
Garcia's brother, Isaar Garcia, told CBS11 he heard the gun shot that killed his younger brother right outside their home.
"When he came to the door, they followed him and they asked for the keys and his wallet, and he gave it to them. But they still shot him in the neck," said Isaar Garcia. "I feel heartbroken… because he was a helpful person when I needed him. He was always there for me."
The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in this investigation.
Crime Stoppers (214)373-TIPS will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment for this felony offense.
