DALLAS (CBSDW.COM) - It was March 4 in Dallas when a 20-year-old man died after being shot several times. Today police say the person responsible is in custody.
It was just after the lunch hour on March 4 when officers were called to a convenience store in the 31oo block of E. Ledbetter Drive. A witness had said two men were arguing and one had shot the other. When they arrived they found Davolya Lewis gravely injured after being shot multiple times. The 20-year-old was taken to an area hospital but died from his injuries more than a week later.
After police investigated they determined it was determined that Corey Freeman, 21, was the gunman who had killed Lewis. A murder arrest warrant was issued for Freeman but he could not be found.
Today Freeman turned himself in to Dallas police. Once at police headquarters, officials say he confessed to killing Lewis.
Freeman has been charged with Murder and remains in the Dallas County Jail on a total bond of $600,000.
