Couple Shot In Fort Worth Home Invasion

UPDATE 6:15 p.m. - Fort Worth Police say a person of interest is in custody.
Police found the Kia in Terrell. It belongs to the couple and was allegedly stolen by the shooter.
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth Police responded to a reported robbery and shooting that took place on Cool Spring Drive in west Fort Worth, not far from the intersection of Interstate-30 and Chapel Creek Boulevard.
"Saw an officer pull up and withdraw her gun and then and I just stayed put," said neighbor Rachel Pizana.
The incident happened shortly before noon on Tuesday.
Witnesses said a couple was attacked at their home.
The husband, 69 was shot in the head and his wife, also 69, was shot in the stomach.
Both were rushed to the hospital.
"(Police) told me that he was face down in the house," said Pizana.
Police sid the woman managed to call 911 to describe what happened. Detectives have not revealed much of what was said. Officers believe the crime was random.
"In the middle of the day, somebody shoots… both of them. And I'm right across the street while it's happening," said Pizana. "It's terrifying,"
Neighbors reported seeing the suspect leave in the couple's SUV.
Police are looking for a light blue, 2008 Kia Sorento with Texas license plate HWM 4891.
There is an American flag sticker on the back window.
The man and wife were both rushed to the hospital. Police said that the woman was in surgery.
The man's condition was critical enough to prompt homicide detectives to begin working the case.
