Police: Political Sign Vandal/Thief Caught On Tape
McKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in McKinney are asking for help from the public in identifying the person who they say is the "suspect in an ongoing investigation," with the latest crime caught on tape.
On September 21 police were called to an area home for a report of vandalism. Responding officers found a political yard sign that had been covered with racial and offensive writing.
Police say the resident replaced the sign in the yard and put up a little something extra -- a surveillance camera.
Two nights after the first act of vandalism, around 10 p.m., the camera captured video of a man driving past the house, stopping, and backing up in front of the house with the sign.
The man is then seen getting out of a small SUV/crossover-type vehicle, taking the yard sign, placing it in his vehicle and driving off.
