Police: Pair Of Identity Thieves Targeting North Texas Elderly
PLANO (KRLD) - Investigators in North Texas are looking for a couple they say are taking elderly people's credit cards by luring them away from their homes.
A 77-year-old woman called Plano police after her cards went missing in July. She told investigators that she had received a phone call notifying her that she had a large package to be picked from the mail room of her apartment complex. She left her apartment unlocked to go retrieve the package. When she came back, she realized her credit cards were gone.
Plano police are investigating a similar theft from a 94-year-old man who also lives in an apartment on West Spring Creek Parkway. Investigators say other burglaries have been reported in Flower Mound, Irving, Mesquite, and Dallas.
Surveillance video in area stores have captured the man and woman police say are using the stolen credit cards.
The first suspect is described as a black male, between 30 and 40 years old, with a medium build. The man is either bald or has a shaven shaven head, facial hair, and may possibly have tattoos on their outer forearms.
The second suspect is described as a black female, between 30 and 40 years old, also with a medium build. The woman has been seen wearing medical scrubs, a white lab coat, black and white sneakers and sunglasses.
The suspects were seen driving a silver-colored sedan-style vehicle, with dark-tinted windows.
