Police Nab Suspect In Dallas Pharmacy Robbery
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The man suspected of robbing a Dallas pharmacy has been arrested, and police are crediting tips from the public with helping them locate John Harrison, the individual believed to be responsible for the crime.
The most recent incident happened on July 27 at a Walgreens drug store located in the 8100 block of South Cockrell Hill Road. Police posted surveillance video of the heist on YouTube, showing the suspect walk up to the pharmacy counter and hand the clerk a note which allegedly read "this is a robbery... don't make a scene and nothing will happen."
The suspect demanded the painkillers hydrocodone and oxycodone -- not money -- from behind the pharmacy counter.
Police believe that the same man may have committed similar crimes in Arlington and Fort Worth, and an earlier robbery at that very same Walgreens location.
A $5,000 reward was offered for information leading to the suspect's arrest. "As a direct result of this reward offer, a witness came forward and provided crucial information that led to the identification of the suspect," said Det. Arleen Martinez with the Dallas Police Department.
