Police: Man Shot In Arlington Road Rage Incident
ARLINGTON, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - A man was shot in the head in a road rage incident in south Arlington Monday night, Arlington police confirm.
It happened in the westbound lane of Interstate-20 near New York Avenue. Part of that area was blocked off to traffic for hours.
Police say the suspect had sideswiped the car the victim was in and opened fire when the driver pulled over to exchange insurance information.
Police said the victim's wife and two young children were in the vehicle, but were not hurt.
Police later confirmed the bullet had just grazed the victim's head and that he had been released from a local hospital after being treated.
The shooter reportedly left the scene in a light colored, possibly a white or silver hatchback vehicle.
Police Chief Will Johnson tweeted Monday night, "We will not tolerate road rage shootings in Arlington. We continue to focus on aggressive driving through proactive enforcement and public education."
