Grand Prairie Police Investigating Mom's Murder
GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM)– Grand Prairie Police are investigating a woman's death after a concerned friend called the police early Sunday morning.
Police say around 3:30 a.m., they received a call from a woman saying her friend did not show up for work the night before. She drove to the woman's apartment to check on her and found her dead inside.
The woman, 32-year-old Angela Bynum, who lived at The Clairborne off North Highway 360 near Forest Ridge Drive, was living with her 13-month old son.
"That kind of drew some red flags to us as to where is this child," said Grand Prairie Detective Lyle Gensler. "So we kind of put the homicide investigation on the back burner until we found out where this child was."
Police found the boy nearly four hours later with his father in Arlington.
Grand Prairie Police arrested the father on an unrelated marijuana charge.
"He is not an official suspect in the case. We are just calling him a person of interest as it relates to the homicide," said Gensler.
The child was taken into protective custody and released to his grandparents.
