Police Investigate Shooting Death In Corsicana
CORSICANA (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Corsicana are investigating the shooting death of a woman at a home located in the 1700 block of East Sixth Avenue. Authorities responded to reports of shots being fired at about 2:20 a.m. early Wednesday morning.
According to Chief Randy Bratton of the Corsicana Police Department, when officers arrived on the scene, they found a 23-year-old woman who had been shot just outside of the front door of a home. She was transported to Navarro Regional Hospital, but later pronounced dead. Her name has not yet been released.
The 28-year-old man at the home was taken into custody without incident. His name has also not yet been released. Police are still questioning him about the case, and he has not yet been booked into the Navarro County Jail.
The investigation into this shooting death is ongoing. Bratton promised to release additional details, including more information about the suspect, later on Wednesday.
