Police Arrest 2 In Connection With Moving Car Murder

SAGINAW (CBSDFW.COM) - Saginaw police had been searching for a woman they believed had information on a fatal shooting that happened over the weekend. There are now two people in custody in relation to the incident.

Just after Midnight Sunday morning a 911 caller reported that someone had fired shots at a moving car in the 200 block of East Bailey-Boswell Road, in Saginaw.

Once at the scene officers found that at least one bullet struck 33-year-old Deidra Louis Blackmon of Dish. She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. No one else in either vehicle was injured. The 911 call was actually placed by a woman in the car with Blackmon.

As police began investigating the murder arrest warrants were issued for Jeffrey Hansana and Heather Rene Thompson; both were later arrested.

On Sunday Saginaw police had released pictures and were looking for a woman seen entering a convenience store a few minutes before the shooting. It is believed Thompson is that woman.

There were initial reports that people in the two cars had been in an argument just minutes before the shooting, but police have not confirmed that there was an argument or what instigated the shooting. "That's where we have the questions," Saginaw police Officer Damon Ing explained. "We do believe an altercation may have taken place, but we don't know much more than that."

Hansana is charged with Murder and has a bond of $250,000. Thompson faces a Failure to Report a Felony charge ad is being held on $10,000 bond.

In a press release statement the Saginaw Police Department also issued a thank you to the public for the 'quick response' to their request for help identifying those involved in the case.
