Plano Sports Bar Goes Up In Flames
PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - A popular North Texas restaurant and bar went up in flames late Monday night. The fire broke out at the Austin Avenue Grill & Sports Bar on West Parker Road in Plano.
There wasn't anyone at the bar when the fire broke out, because it was closed for the July 4th holiday.
When firefighters arrived on scene just before 10:30 Monday night, they decided it was too dangerous to try to save the building, so their mission was to keep the fire from spreading.
"All the fire was in the roof area, through the roof and there was no fire inside the building," explained Plano Fire Department Battalion Chief Michael Shafer. "There was so much fire in the roof, through the roof, we didn't want to go inside."

Video of the blaze showed heavy smoke and flames shooting from the bar. The building is believed to be a total loss.
There were no injuries
An exact cause for the fire hasn't been determined but since Monday was the Fourth of July, fire investigators will look into whether fireworks sparked the blaze.
